Abstract:

Objective

To investigate staff’s cognition of medical care and recuperation mode in nursing homes for seniors, so as to provide reference for improving the medical care and recuperation mode and optimizing the system design.

Methods

A purposive sampling method was adopted. According to the principle of data saturation, 30 staff (including management personnel, doctors, nurses and nursing workers) from 5 nursing homes in Hangzhou city and its surrounding areas were selected for semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed by content analysis.

Results

A total of 3 themes were extracted, including the current situation of the medical care and recuperation carried out in nursing homes (i.e. the application of the medical care and recuperation mode is universal, and the care of this model is characteristic), key points of the promotion of the medical care and recuperation in nursing homes (i.e., the attention to service output and feedback, and the focus on multi-party cooperation and articulation), and difficulties in the development of the medical care and recuperation.

Conclusion

The staff of nursing homes have a high level of awareness and acceptance of the medical care and recuperation mode, but there are also problems such as inadequate publicity. It is necessary to promote the policy of nursing staff training, and management personnel should strengthen training, promote multi-party linkage and improve the intelligent level of this mode.
