Abstract:

Objective

To explore the application effect of Danhong injection in the postoperative treatment of elderly patients with osteoporotic hip fracture.

Methods

Totally 80 elderly patients with osteoporotic hip fractures treated surgically in Beihai Hospital of Chinese Medicine from March 2018 to March 2020 were selected, and 40 cases (control group) were treated with osteopeptide injection after surgery, and remaining 40 cases (observation group) were treated with osteopeptide injection combined with Danhong injection. The clinical efficacy, inflammation level, coagulation function and bone metabolism indexes of the two groups were compared after 6-week treatment. T test was used for the comparison of measurement data, the chi-square test was used for the comparison of counting data.

Results

The efficiency in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (χ2=4.114, P < 0.05), and its healing time of the fracture was significantly shorter than that in the control group (t=6.397, P < 0.05); the levels of interleukin-6, C-reactive protein, and tumor necrosis factor alpha in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group after treatment (t=9.542, 20.654, 20.250, P < 0.05); activated partial thromboplastin time, prothrombin time, and thrombin time were all further improved compared with those in the control group (t=5.103, 5.548, 6.783, P < 0.05); osteocalcin and bone alkaline phosphatase in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (t=4.542, 4.092, P < 0.05); the cross-linked carboxy-terminal telopeptide of type I collagen in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (t=4.099, P < 0.05).

Conclusion

The application of Danhong injection in postoperative treatment of elderly patients with osteoporotic hip fractures can further enhance the efficacy, reduce the level of inflammatory factors, and improve coagulation function and bone metabolism.
