Effects of aging on vestibular function

Abstract:

Dizziness and imbalance are one of the most common complaints in the elderly. The vestibular system is the most important system to maintain the body's balance, and aging has many effects on the vestibular system. Despite the impact of aging on the vestibular system anatomy can be interpreted as a normal aging process, but the normal aging process may cause abnormal of vestibular function examination, leading to a decline in physiological and pathological vestibular function in the elderly in the identification of more difficult, also increased the old people swimmy disease clinical diagnosis is difficult. This article mainly introduces the effects of aging on the function of the vestibular system, and provides a basis for the diagnosis and treatment of elderly patients with vertigo.
