Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the clinical effect of Xuesaitong lyophilized powder combined with biological protein sponge in the treatment of postoperative complications of senile intraspinal tumor.

Methods

38 elderly patients with spinal canal tumors admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2018 to December 2019 were selected, 19 cases were treated with local intervention of biological protein sponge (control group), and the other 19 cases were treated with Xuesaitong lyophilized powder combined with local intervention of biological protein sponge (observation group). The patients were followed up for 1.0-1.5 years. The JOA scores of the two groups on the same day and one month after operation were compared, as well as the average hospitalization time, bed rest time and complications. T test was used to compare the measurement data, and χ2 test was used to compare the count data.

Results

There was no significant difference in JOA score on the day after operation between the two groups (t=0.232, P > 0.05), but there were significant differences in JOA score, average hospital stay and bed time one month after operation between the two groups (t=12.345, 2.535, 5.312, P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in nerve root adhesion, infection, constipation and urinary retention (χ2=733, 1.733, 1.733, 1.733, P > 0.05). The incidence of other complications in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group (χ2=16.592, 16.592, 16.592, 7.812, 14.378, 14.378, 16.592, 16.592, 14.378, P < 0.05 or P < 0.01).

Conclusion

Xuesaitong lyophilized powder combined with biological protein sponge local intervention in elderly patients with spinal canal tumor can significantly shorten the bed time and hospitalization time, reduce the occurrence of postoperative complications, which is worthy of clinical reference.
