Abstract:
Objective To investigate the effect of meglumine diatrizoate local injection combined with upper limb elastic bandage in the treatment of elderly patients with axillary effusion after modified radical mastectomy.
Methods 68 elderly patients with axillary effusion after modified radical resection of breast cancer admitted to the Yantai Affiliated Hospital of Binzhou Medical College from January 2017 to June 2019 were selected. Among them, 34 patients (observation group) received local injection of methylene blue combined with upper limb elastic bandage + negative pressure drainage and local pressure dressing, while 34 patients (control group) received simple negative pressure drainage and local pressure dressing. The axillary drainage volume, indwelling time of axillary drainage tube and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. T test was used for comparison between groups.
Results The axillary drainage volume of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group, and the indwelling time of the axillary drainage tube was significantly lower than that of the control group (t=1.489, 5.831; P < 0.05 or 0.01). No systemic adverse reactions occurred in both groups.
Conclusion Local injection of meglumine diatrizoate combined with upper limb elastic bandage bandage can significantly reduce axillary drainage volume and significantly shorten the indwelling time of axillary drainage tube, which is easy to operate and has high safety.
