Abstract:
Objective To investigate the status quo of medical integration of the elderly in Xi'an old-age care institutions.
Methods From September 2017 to January 2018, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 111 elderly people in 12 pension institutions in different districts of Xi'an city, including basic information of the elderly, pension support and related needs of combining medical care with nursing care.
Results The elderly were mainly aged 80 to 89 years old (44.5%), and the education degree was mostly at the level of primary school or below (40.2%). The number of people with monthly income of 1,500 to 4,000 yuan is the largest (43.4%), and the number of people with monthly pension expenses of 1,000 to 3,000 yuan is the largest (78.2%). 89 cases (80.4%) were widowed.Seventy-six cases (68.4%) of the elderly did not know or heard of relevant knowledge and policies on the integration of medical care and nursing. 48.5% of the elderly are admitted to nursing homes because they needed care. Most [71 cases (63.9%)] of the elderly were satisfied with their services.
Conclusion At present, the medical level of old-age care institutions is uneven, which cannot meet the increasing medical and care needs of the elderly. The social old-age care under the guidance of the government needs to be further improved and developed rapidly.
