Abstract:
Objective To analyze the differential diagnostic efficiency of ultrasonic elastography (UC) combined with S-Detect technology for benign and malignant lesions in elderly patients with Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) 4 nodules.
Methods A total of 124 elderly patients with BI-RADS 4 type breast nodules (146 nodules in total) in Guangyuan Central Hospital and Chengdu Second People’s Hospital during September 2019 and September 2021 were enrolled in the study. UC and S-Detect technology were performed in all patients. Taking postoperative pathological examination as the gold standard, Kappa consistency was used to analyze the diagnostic efficiency of the two methods for benign and malignant nodules.
Results The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and Kappa coefficient value of UC combined with S-Detect technique in the differentiation of benign and malignant BI-RADS 4 type nodules were 84.69%, 89.58%, 86.30%, 94.32%, 74.14% and 0.705, respectively, which were higher than those diagnosed using UC or S-Detect only.
Conclusion UC combined with S-Detect has satisfactory diagnostic efficiency for benign and malignant breast nodules in elderly patients with BI-RADS 4.
