Abstract:

Objective

To compare the efficacy of eprazole and omeprazole in the treatment of elderly patients with peptic ulcer.

Methods

A total of 78 elderly patients with peptic ulcer diagnosed in Guangyuan Central Hospital during April 2020 and April 2021 were selected. Among them, 39 patients were treated with omeprazole + amoxicillin + furazolidone (control group), and 39 patients were treated with eprazole + amoxicillin + furazolidone (observation group), both treatments lasted for 14 days. The clinical efficacy, clearance rate of Helicobacter pylori (Hp), levels of vascular growth factors, inflammatory factors and gastrointestinal dynamics before and after treatment were compared between the two groups, and adverse reactions were recorded. Chi-square test was used for comparison of counting data groups, t test was used for comparison of measurement data.

Results

The total effective rate and Hp clearance rate of observation group were significantly higher than those of control group (χ2=5.186, 4.337, P < 0.05). After treatment, compared with the control group, the levels of vascular endothelial growth factor and basic fibroblast growth factor in the observation group increased more significantly (t=5.189, 5.306, P < 0.01); the levels of IL-17, IL-10 and nitric oxide in the observation group decreased significantly (t=5.207, 3.190, 5.643, P < 0.01); the levels of gastrin, somatostatin and motilin in the observation group were significantly improved (t=6.370, 4.510, 3.195, P < 0.01). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (χ2=0.557, P > 0.05).

Conclusion

The efficacy of eprazole in the treatment of senile peptic ulcer is better than omeprazole, which can improve Hp clearance rate and vascular growth factor level, reduce inflammatory factor level, improve gastric motility and promote damaged mucosa repair.
