Abstract:

At present, although studies believe that reconstruction after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury can prevent post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) in the elderly, the mechanism of progression to PTOA after ACL injury is complex, there is a lack of effective diagnostic methods and monitoring indicators, and the treatment method is also limited. For patients with a history of ACL injury, especially middle-aged people undergoing ACL reconstruction surgery, although the stability of the knee joint has been restored, the incidence of PTOA after the age of 60 is still very high, which has caused great trouble to their lives. Therefore, the early detection and intervention of ptoa is very important. This paper will review the possible mechanism, early diagnosis methods and effective intervention measures of the progression from ACL injury to ptoa, in order to provide reference for clinical practice.
