Infections in the elderly and immunosenescence

Abstract:

Infection is the main cause of death in elderly people, immunosenescence is an important part of aging, Whether they are related to or whether reversal of immune aging can reduce the incidence rate and mortality of elderly infection has attracted wide attention. This paper will review the age-related infection, the mechanism of immune immunosenescence including innate immune system/innate immune system and adaptive immune system/acquired immune system, the relationship of age-related infection and immunosenescence, in order to provide reference for the healthy aging of the elderly.
