Abstract:

Objective

To observe the efficacy of micro incision combined with exsanguinations band and tunnel pressure on treating senile varicose ulcer.

Methods

From June, 2016 to June, 2017, 90 senile varicose ulcer patients were included. Forty five patients were treated with micro incision combined with exsanguinations band and tunnel pressure, and another 45 patients were treated with micro incision only. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative subcutaneous hematoma, postoperative pain, postoperative hospital stay, and outpatient follow-up ulcer healing were recorded, and graded with venous clinical severity score (VCSS).

Results

Compared with the control group, the operation time of the observation group was significantly shortened; the amount of intraoperative blood loss was significantly reduced; the incidence of postoperative hematoma was significantly reduced; the postoperative pain score was significantly reduced; the hospitalization time was shortened; and the ulcer healing time was significantly shortened (t=18.010, 50.320, 33.540, 19.210, 16.680, χ2 =16.250; all P < 0.01). Two groups of patients were followed up for half a year. The ulcers were cured with no recurrence. Compared with pre-treatment, the VCSS scores of the two groups were significantly lower after treatment (t=37.370, 49.980, P < 0.01). There was no significant difference in VCSS score between the two groups before treatment (t=0.000, P>0.05). After treatment, the VCSS score of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (t=14.550, P < 0.01).

Conclusion

Micro-incision combined with exsanguinations band and tunnel pressure treatment has the advantages of short operation time, small amount of bleeding, short hospitalization time, light postoperative pain, quick healing, etc. It is simple and easy to learn, low cost, and suitable for popularization and application in primary hospitals.
